Every piece begins with a stone — one I've found somewhere on Vancouver Island. I cut and polish it by hand in my studio, then set it in sterling silver. No supply chains. No catalogues. Just the Island's geology, shaped into something you can carry with you.
I collect nearly all of the stones I work with, and I can usually tell you exactly where each one came from — the beach, the river, the mountainside. That story becomes part of the piece.
