Frequently Asked Questions

What is dallasite?

Dallasite is a type of brecciated jasper found on Vancouver Island, particularly around the Cowichan Valley. It's made up of fragments of volcanic rock cemented together over millions of years, creating distinctive patterns of green, black, cream, and sometimes rare blue tones. It's one of Vancouver Island's signature stones.

What do the origin badges mean?

Every piece in the shop carries an origin marker so you know where the stone came from. There are three tiers:

Island Found — hand-collected on Vancouver Island by me or fellow collectors I work with.
Canadian Sourced — material from elsewhere in Canada.
Internationally Sourced — material from outside Canada.

You'll see these on every product card and detail page.

Do you do custom work?

Yes — whether you have your own stone or a design idea, I'm happy to discuss a custom piece. Visit the Custom Work page or email echoesofearthjewelry@gmail.com to start the conversation.

What ring size do I need?

Know your size before you buy. Due to the natural stones and custom settings, resizing is often difficult or impossible without risking the stone. Any local jeweller can measure you quickly, or you can order an inexpensive ring sizer online. Getting the right size upfront saves headaches. See our ring sizing policy for details.

Are prices in Canadian dollars?

Yes, all prices are in CAD.

Do you ship internationally?

Shipping within Canada is a flat $15 CAD (free over $500). US and international shipping is available on request — email for a quote. Customs duties are the buyer's responsibility.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Contact echoesofearthjewelry@gmail.com within 7 days with photos. We'll repair or replace any piece with a craftsmanship defect, and work with Canada Post on any shipping damage claims.

How should I care for my jewellery?
